The Session

I always strive for the best quality. I want my customers to have a vast selection of images to choose from. I want my photographs natural, alive and touching. This means that a session with me takes time. For home shoots, four or five hours are needed, including the time needed to set up the material.

The time spent together allows me to witness different moods of your pets and let them get more comfortable with me. From the beginning to the end of a shoot, their attitude changes and the last pictures are often exceptional and would not have been possible earlier.

The Selection

To help you select your photographs, I start by showing you the most beautiful pictures from our session (usually 50 or more). We then gradually sort and eliminate images, until you are left with a very personal selection of your most loved pictures. Once you are entirely satisfied with your choice, the digital processing starts and continues until each digital image is as good as it can be. The resulting files are then sent to a professional photo lab and printed on traditional photographic paper. Your order is ready in two to four weeks.

I own a lovebird who likes to bite. I was very apprehensive prior to the photo session because I was not used to handling my bird.

Serge really has the knack with animals. Much to my surprise, he got acquainted with my little parrot without getting bitten.

I then took my bird gently, and started to pose for Serge. As the session progressed, I felt closer and closer to my bird. I eventually put him on my shoulder, my head, my back and even in my hair.

To me, this experience has been not only a superb photo session, but almost a therapy to better tame my animal.

Since then, my lovebird is often on my shoulders and he lets me kiss him without biting me.

The Computer Work

(Digital Processing)

Today's professional digital cameras record picture files that are versatile and an excellent starting point to reach optimal final quality. Yet these very pictures files can't be used without computer enhancement.

This is done with very powerful and complex image treatment software which requires months or years to master.

Hence, processing digital files into eye popping photographs requires a great deal of time and considerable skill and experience. But the superior quality of the finished product is worth it.

Professional photography is a trade-off between volume and quality. I have chosen to invest all the time and efforts needed to produce exceptional results.
This choice limits the number of people I can work with, but it also allows for a warmer and more personal relationship with my customers.

It has been truly enjoyable to be photographed by Mr. Vaillancourt.

His love of animals and his great patience were obvious right from the start. Our Golden Retriever Love was very excited, but he took all the time needed to get successful captures.

His work is very professional. When we received the photographs, they were gorgeous and natural.

These photos are priceless to us because our dog is a part of our family. The pictures are rich with details and we are very satisfied with his work.
