I met Serge Vaillancourt after reading an article in the magazine Châtelaine. I was instantly drawn to his original and ambitious "150 Pets" photo project.

Of course, I felt a bit nervous when Roxy and I arrived at the studio, but Serge has a way with dogs and Roxy was soon eager to pose.

I was a bit surprised when he asked me to be in the pictures, but I'm glad I agreed. All 50 pictures of Roxy and me were magnificent. Narrowing the choice down was not an easy task.

Some time later, a visiting relative noticed the splendid 20 x 24" photograph on the wall and pointed out: "WOW! She looks like Roxy! But wait, this is... YOU!!! And she IS Roxy!!!"

I am a RCMP police officer and I wanted to have beautiful photos of my lovely pets before going away for a long training.

A few weeks before my departure, my adorable little dog, my best friend, Babe left me for a better world. At the time of the shoot, I didn't know how important these pictures would become. Today, I can see in them all the love we shared.

Our photo session has been a fantastic experience.

Upon arrival, we had an embarrassing moment when our Labrador decided to leave her mark on the huge background canvas, but Serge was quick to make us forget all about it.

His professionalism is flawless and he knows how to connect with both humans and animals.

We have one Labrador, one cat, two cockatiels and a little Senegal parrot.

At home, our Labrador can't be stopped from running after the cat and is no longer allowed inside since the time she nearly killed one of the cockatiels. Our cat drools over the cockatiels and the little parrot is always attacking them.

So you would think that making a photograph of the entire family would be nearly impossible. Yet, incredible as it appears, Serge managed to make not one, but several such family portraits. He had the cat and the parrot not even looking at the cockatiels, and the dog remaining as quiet as we have ever seen.

I am usually the only one who can manipulate my parrot without being bitten, but Serge won his trust in no time. He has the patience of an angel and his calmness is exceptional.

He took many wonderful photos, one of which is an awesome shot of my parrot in full flight.

Believe me, one has an enormous choice when it's time to pick and choose.

My husband and I are very satisfied with our photo session.

I recommend all animal lovers to live that experience at least once in their life.

We keep wonderful memories from that evening and can't wait to see the photo book that will be made from the 150 Pets photo project.
